Hidemi has tweeted a teaser image for a figure that seems to be the first in a new Variant Play Art Kai series. The message tweeted alongside this image was translated via Google to: "New series! I will publish a little bit. Can you guess which character?"
If not for that accompanying message, I would have instantly thought this might be a Variant Play Arts Kai Hawkman (or quite possibly Hawkgirl) given the DC Universe's lack of prominent winged characters. However, if it's part of a new series, an absurd number of possibilities are unlocked... and yet I somehow don't have the foggiest idea as to what it could be!
One of the respondents suggested that it could be Bahamut but, given that we already have a Variant Play Arts Kai Final Fantasyline, it seems unlikely. I'm assuming that the character is likely something from a video game and quite possibly a property that they already cover in a conventional way. As such, it could be Devil Jin from the Tekken series. Devil Jin sports claws, has a jutting spike in his forearm, and has wings which all seems to fit, so the completely different lower torso could be the variant aspect. Granted, that's probably a bit of a long shot (especially since the figure has a tail) and I imagine that I'm overlooking some more obvious candidate.
The floodgates have opened to wild speculation so toss in your bets before Hidemi reveals more.
Shown in preview by Square Enix two images that portray one of the most famous evocations of "Final Fantasy" in Variant version Play Arts Kai, or Bahamut.
The dragon appeared in almost all the chapters of the acclaimed saga, is portrayed in this alternative version that sees him in a more human than usual.
Currently still remains to establish the price and release date of the action figure, you just have to wait for more news and views from the Japanese company, which has yet to reveal almost the entire front of the product.
