Russian President Vladimir Putin 12-Inch Scale Action

Here’s a strange one. Up for pre-order now at Cotswold Collectibles is this 12-inch scale Vladimir Putin action figure. And packed with flags and a podium this guy is all set to give speech after speech after speech to the other toys in your collection. I’ve never really understood the desire to create toys based on politicians . . . but it’s not up to me to decide what does or doesn’t get made and this one was too odd for me not to share. I bet there are more than a few people excited about adding this toy to their shelves.
Actually, pitting this figure against the 12-inch scale Cobra Commander action figure (review here) would probably be kinda fun.
I thought that DID’s next figure set would naturally be a WWI figure (US Doughboy???) but they threw us all a curve ball with the announcement of a Russian President Vladimir Putin figure set. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there are some really interesting items in the set – namely the speaker podium with two headed eagle presidential seal, Russian National Flag and Presidential flags (complete with flagpoles and bases), the Presidential Locket, and the Special Edition of the Russian Constitution. If you google and check out images of Putin’s inuaguration at the Great Kremlin Palace back in May, you’ll see that DID did a phenomenal job of recreating all those same items that were present at this ceremony.
