New images of ThreeA's Metal Gear Rex revealed

Fresh from ThreeA Toys' 3Avox13 newsletter comes four brand-new, very well detailed images showing off their forthcoming Metal Gear Rex figure. And with that comes some new info as well: Metal Gear Rex is approximately 42 cm tall (16.5 inches) and will go on sale in January. It will feature some LED illumination on both the railgun (as previously shown) and on lights above the cockpit, it seems.

No word on a price yet for Rex, but hot damn, this is looking amazing and ThreeA should be very proud of what they've been able to pull off. I'm definitely buying one.

Esse Rex ficou bom demais, puta que pariu... Ainda bem que joguei bem pouco Metal Gear e não tenho tanto afeto pelo bichão, mas a vontade de comprar é equivalente à falta de dinheiro

Maaan the PSOne era was the 1st renaissance period of gaming in my eyes. Granted, I was young during the snes and megadrive days, but even I could see that games were limited by the hardware. You could have fun, but you couldn’t be fully immersed into a universe or story line. The PSOne, Sony’s first and arguably best system, allowed for expansive universes, boasting 3D graphics which lead to innovation in abundance. One of the games that merged and merged so well within the era was Metal Gear Solid. The debut of the “tactical espionage action” game was well received by many critics in the golden year, that was 1998. I, like many, hadn’t experienced such an incredible story that reached deep proportions in games, ever, period. I instantly became a fan obsessed with the series. Now fast forward many years and I come across this, a replica of the Metal Gear Rex. It’s 1/48th the actual supposed size of the machine and doesn’t shoot out remote controlled nukes. Who cares about that though? Aint nobody here trying to get this for warfare.

The awesomely awesome toy replica is set to launch on March 2nd and will go on sale in Bambaland store for $490! ThreeA Toys have been working their asses off lately designing this thing and from the looks of the final product, I would miss my mortgage payments just to get a hold of one. I just wish it could shoot out laser beams though. “In the Middle-East, we don’t hunt foxes, we hunt jackals!” Because Jackals have been giving me headaches lately.
